Doctor dashboard
Your day at a glance: today's list, what is still pending, and where to start.
The doctor dashboard is the screen you land on when you sign in, and the one you come back to between patients. It answers four questions at a glance: how many people are you seeing today, who is next, how far through the list are you, and what still needs your attention. Everything on it is a shortcut into a consultation.
/c/your-clinic/doctor/dashboardThe top bar greets you by name — Good morning, Dr. {name} before noon, Good afternoon until 5 pm, Good evening after that — and tells you how many consultations are lined up. Next to it sit two buttons you will use constantly: Quick consultation for a walk-in with no booking, and Appointments for the full list.
The four stat cards
The cards are counters, not just decoration. Click any of them and you land on your appointment list with the matching filter already applied.
| Card | What it counts | Clicking it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Today's consultations | Every appointment assigned to you today, cancelled and rejected ones excluded. The caption reads N on video when some of them are teleconsultations, otherwise Scheduled for today. | Your appointments, filtered to Today. |
| Completed today | Consultations you finished today — the count goes up the moment you click Complete in a case sheet. | Today's appointments, filtered to Completed. |
| Awaiting you | Patients you have not opened yet. The caption says Not yet consulted. This is the number that should reach zero by the end of the day. | Your appointments, filtered to Pending. |
| Patients | How many different patients have ever been assigned to you at this clinic (Under your care). | Your full appointment list, unfiltered. |
Up next
The Up next panel picks out your soonest appointment that has not been consulted yet. It shows the patient's name, their reason for visit, the day and time in IST, and whether it is a Video consultation or In-person. One button — Start consultation — opens their case sheet.
Today's schedule
This is your running order for the day, earliest first. Each row carries the patient's initial, their name, the reason for visit, the appointment time, a blue Video chip if it is a teleconsultation, and a status chip — pending, in progress or completed.
- 1
Click the row for the patient in front of you.
The whole row is a button. It opens that patient's consultation case sheet — the same screen the Start consultation button opens.
- 2
Work through the case sheet and click Complete.
See Running a consultation for the full case-taking flow, and Writing a prescription for the medication builder.
- 3
Come back to the dashboard for the next patient.
Completed today goes up, Awaiting you goes down, and the day-progress gauge moves.
Day progress
The half-circle gauge beside today's schedule shows how far through the day you are: N% of today's list consulted. Underneath, a two-line legend gives you the raw numbers behind it — Done (what you have completed today) and Remaining (today's consultation count). The percentage is worked out from those two figures, so it climbs with every case sheet you complete and sits at 0% before your first patient of the day.
Consultation load
The bar chart on the left shows your bookings for the current week, Sunday through Saturday. Cancelled and rejected appointments are not counted. Read it with the legend below the bars:
- Busiest day — the darkest bar, your heaviest day this week.
- Today — highlighted in green so you can see where you are in the week.
- No bookings — a hatched, empty bar. A free day, not missing data.
View all in the corner of the panel takes you to the full appointment list.
The Vita spotlight
The dark card on the right — Vita AI · Analyse a case with AI — is the shortcut into the clinic's AI tools. Open Vita takes you to the standalone assistant, where you can ask about your schedule, look up a patient or compare remedies. Repertory opens the rubric search and repertorisation workbench.
The monthly calendar
At the bottom of the dashboard, Monthly Calendar lays your bookings out across the month, with a count badge on every day that has appointments and coloured pills — amber for Pending, green for In Progress, brighter green for Completed.
- Hover a day to see up to six appointments with their times and status; click any one of them to jump straight into that consultation.
- Click a day to pin it — a panel opens below the grid listing every appointment on that date.
- Use the arrows either side of the month name to move through months, and Today to snap back.
Finding an appointment
When the dashboard is not enough — an old record, a patient calling ahead, a case you left half-finished — go to Appointments in the sidebar. It lists every consultation assigned to you, with the header showing N total · M loaded.
- Search
- Search by name, email, or phone… — type any of the three. The list narrows a moment after you stop typing.
- Status pills
- All / Pending / In progress / Completed — one click, the filter every doctor reaches for most.
- Dates
- All dates, Today, Upcoming (today onwards) or Past (before today). Days are counted in IST.
- Modes
- All modes, In-person or Video — use Video to line up your teleconsultations for the day.
- Types
- All types, Chronic, Follow-up or Acute. This is the visit type recorded on the case sheet.
- Sort
- Sort: Date, Sort: Name or Sort: Status, with the arrow button next to it flipping between ascending and descending.
Filters stack — Pending plus Today plus Video gives you exactly the video calls you still owe patients today. Scroll to the bottom and more appointments load automatically, ten at a time. If nothing matches you get No appointments found.
Starting a consultation from the list
Each appointment card carries a date tile, the patient's name, the reason for visit, a status chip, a visit-type chip, a Video chip when relevant, the time, the patient's phone number and the appointment number (#…). The button at the bottom of the card changes with the consultation's state.
| Status chip | Button | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Start | Opens a fresh case sheet. The consultation is now yours to fill in. |
| In Progress | Continue | Reopens a case sheet you already started — nothing you typed is lost, drafts are saved automatically. |
| Completed | View record | Opens the finished case sheet read-only, with the banner Completed – Read Only. You can still read it and export it, but not edit it. |
Joining a video consultation
There is no separate join screen. A teleconsultation is an ordinary appointment with a Video chip on it — you open it exactly like any other, and the call button lives in the consultation header.
- 1
Open the video appointment.
From Up next, from Today's schedule, or from the appointment list. The Video chip tells you which ones they are.
- 2
Click Start Call in the consultation header.
This button only exists on appointments booked as teleconsultations. A toast confirms Video call started — waiting for patient to join, and the patient can now enter the room from their side.
- 3
Keep filling the case sheet while you talk.
The video panel docks beside the form. The call status reads Waiting for patient..., then Call Active once they join.
- 4
Use Hide Video and Show Call to get room.
Hiding the panel does not drop the call — it just gives the case sheet the full width.
- 5
End the call, or simply click Complete.
Completing the consultation ends any active video session for you. See Teleconsultation for the patient's side, screen sharing and recording.
Common questions
My stat cards look wrong — a booking is missing.+
Click the refresh arrow in the top bar. The dashboard caches its numbers for about a minute, so an appointment booked seconds ago may not be counted yet.
Why does Today's schedule show fewer patients than Today's consultations?+
Because completed consultations leave the schedule panel. Today's consultations counts everyone booked today; the panel only lists the ones still to be seen.
Can I edit a consultation after completing it?+
No. A completed case sheet is read-only — View record opens it, but the fields are locked. Anything that still has to change (the fee, an invoice, the prescription) is handled from billing or by the pharmacist.
The Lab Orders or Repertory link is missing from my sidebar.+
Those links appear only when your clinic's plan includes the lab and repertory modules. Your administrator can check on the subscription page.
What does the Patients card actually count?+
Every distinct patient who has ever had an appointment with you at this clinic. It is a lifetime figure, not a today figure, and clicking it opens your full appointment list rather than a patient directory.
